Chris Schuler, London Transport Museum, LONDON
In 1853 Edward Stanford established his map-making business in the heart of London and at the height of the British Empire. His maps fuelled a passion for adventure, exploration and foreign travel, which in turn led to an explosion in travel writing. Over 160 years later, the Edward Stanford Travel Writing Awards exist to celebrate this most exciting of genres and seek to celebrate the best travel writing, and travel writers, in the world.
The 2020 awards ceremony takes place on 26th February 2020, at The London Transport Museum, in Central London. There will be a cocktail reception and global food feast at 7:00pm, followed by the awards ceremony. The awards will be hosted by globe-trotting TV presenter Julia Bradbury.
A highlight of the event is the Stanford Dolman Award for Travel Writing, which is offered in partnership between Stanfords and the Authors Club, and with the generous support of the Rev Bill Dolman. We are therefore delighted to offer a special Authors Club discounted rate for tickets to the awards of £38 including VAT. Tickets can be booked by clicking HERE.
To get your concessionary rate please enter the discount code AUTHOR20 in the discount box on the webpage (don’t forget to click Apply Discount).
We hope to see you at this celebration of the best travel writing of the year.
